Contact usTrue fairytales often begin unexpectedly, just like the love story of Ellen and Daniel. Their journey to “I do” started in 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, with a wedding far away in New York.
One of Daniel’s best friends from university chose him as his best man for his wedding in the Big Apple, over 1,600 km away. Traveling was complicated, public events were limited, but Daniel didn’t hesitate: he packed his bags and headed to the East Coast. What he didn’t know was that fate had an unforgettable surprise in store for him…
“When I arrived at the luxurious estate in the Hudson Valley, I thought I had already seen the best of it,” Daniel recalls. “But on the morning of the wedding, while we were taking photos on a hill, I saw her. A breathtaking beauty dressed in black, with innate elegance. Every step she took revealed a fleeting flash of red—the unmistakable signature of her Louboutins. She wasn’t seeking attention, yet I was irresistibly drawn to her, as if an invisible force was pulling me toward her. In that moment, everything else faded away: I had to talk to her.”
That conversation changed everything. Over the next four years, Daniel and Ellen traveled countless miles between Wisconsin and Manhattan, falling more in love each day and dreaming of a future together. One of their dreams? A trip to Italy…
Quoting Oscar Wilde, Daniel sums up their love for Italy in one sentence: “The air, the light, the sky, even the sea—everything in Italy is made of magic.”
Ellen had already experienced the charm of Italy while studying dance in Arezzo. During their first trip together, they both fell in love with the country so deeply that it became a part of them. And it was during their second trip that Daniel decided to make it even more special:
“Italy holds our hearts, and there was no better place to ask the woman I love to marry me than in the land that embodies our love.”
When Daniel contacted the Your Wedding in Florence team, he already knew exactly what he wanted: the romantic Arno River cruise Proposal, passing right under Ponte Vecchio.
“Few places symbolize love like a bridge. Bridges unite, overcome distances, and open up new opportunities.”
But Ponte Vecchio held an even deeper meaning for Daniel:
“This bridge has stood for nearly 700 years and is the only one to have survived the destruction of World War II—a true testament to resilience. I wanted our love to be celebrated in a place that embodies strength and eternity.”
Normally, the most significant moment is when she says “yes,” but Daniel recalls another detail that made the proposal even more magical:
“Right after I got up, Ponte Vecchio erupted in applause and cheers. A crowd of strangers surrounded us with congratulations. That sudden crescendo of emotions made everything even more magical and forever tied our hearts to the Arno, to Florence, and to Italy.”
Entrusting such an important moment to someone on the other side of the world can seem daunting. But Daniel knew he was in safe hands with Your Wedding in Florence.
“From the very first email, I realized how much care and attention to detail they had. Everything went exactly as planned, just as I had dreamed.”
The team handled every aspect with discretion and precision:
“What impressed me the most was the flawless execution. The photographer, the staff, and the gondolier maintained the illusion of a simple boat ride. Then, near Ponte Vecchio, I received the signal… and I knelt down to say those timeless words: ‘Will you marry me?’”
Ellen’s reaction was forever captured in the stunning engagement photos taken in Florence.
Every love story we encounter moves us as if it were the first time. Every couple shows us how alive and vibrant love truly is, and we feel honored to turn their dreams into reality.
