An Italian-American Love in Florence: Juliana and Travis’s Wedding

There are weddings that seem to have a destiny already written: Juliana and Travis’s is one of them. Two young Americans with roots in Southern Italy, a love born at university in Malibu, and a dream: to return to Italy, to that Florence they had both loved during their respective study trips, to celebrate the most important day of their lives. A dream that became reality thanks to the experience of Your Wedding in Florence and its team of wedding planners, who made the event unforgettable.
Juliana & Travis wedding day began with a welcome party on the terrace of the Angel Roofbar & Dining, on the evening before the wedding: a perfect moment to bring guests together and begin three days of celebrations marked by joy and togetherness.
The wedding day was the heart of this unforgettable experience: a celebration that united the charm of Florence with the traditions of the couple’s Southern Italian roots.
Among the guests, friends and relatives who had arrived from the United States joined family members from their Italian homelands, creating an encounter of cultures, affection, and traditions that made the atmosphere even more intimate.
After getting ready in the elegant rooms of Palazzo Pazzi Vitali, Juliana reached the Church of Santi Apostoli—one of the oldest and most evocative churches in Florence, overlooking the enchanting banks of the Arno—aboard a white 1959 Bentley S1.
The ceremony was a traditional mass, filled with emotion, made even more touching by Father Kramer’s heartfelt words.
The celebration continued among the Florentine hills, at the magnificent Villa di Maiano. A location that combines breathtaking views with refined interiors, offering the perfect setting for an unforgettable event.
The reception was a crescendo of emotions.
The band Cosimo and the Hot Coals accompanied the evening with live swing and jazz music, creating a retro atmosphere.
The best surprise? Instead of the classic wedding cake, the couple amazed their guests with a spectacular tiramisù tower: a tribute to Italian tradition, reinterpreted in a modern, spectacular, and delicious way.
At sunset, a breathtaking fireworks show illuminated the Florence skyline, leaving everyone speechless.
After the show, the music came alive with a DJ set accompanied by a live saxophonist, for a night of dancing, toasts, and joy.
The following day, a goodbye pizza party at Rifrullo bid farewell to everyone in true Italian-American spirit.
As per the best Italian-American tradition, Juliana’s parents expressed their gratitude with a special gesture: beautiful Tiffany & Co. gifts were given to the wedding planners of Your Wedding in Florence for helping make their children’s dream come true.
The touching speech by the bride’s father, dedicated to Juliana—the youngest of three sisters—revealed all the love and sweetness of a united family, deeply moving everyone present.
Today, Juliana and Travis live in California with Ellie, their beloved German Shephard, carrying in their hearts the memory of Florence: the city where, surrounded by the affection of their loved ones, they experienced an event that has forever marked their love story. And perhaps, among the streets of Florence, other couples will dream of their own “I do” while gazing at the sky lit by fireworks, imagining living the same magic among the wonders of Italy.
